I’m A Celebrity fans have erupted in outrage after Ashley Roberts became the latest star to be sent home, slamming the show’s “unfair” elimination process. The Pussycat Dolls star, who placed as a runner-up in 2012, was eliminated in a dramatic double exit, which saw her fail to beat the sudden death challenge, Keys To Success.
Despite a promising start, Ashley’s performance in the challenge saw her finish last, spending 11 minutes on a puzzle that took Mo Farah just 36 seconds to solve. Viewers immediately took to social media to express their anger, claiming Ashley deserved to make it further and should not have been eliminated, especially due to the controversy surrounding the previous trial.
In the prior challenge, Rancid Run, Jimmy Bullard made a shocking move by yelling “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!” during the trial, which many fans believe sabotaged the results. Viewers voiced their frustrations, saying Ashley may have survived if not for Jimmy’s actions. One fan tweeted, “Ashley deserved to win! So gutted she’s gone, I blame Jimmy for it.”
Ashley herself addressed her elimination with grace, reflecting on her 12-day stint in camp. “As much as I’m bummed to be going out, making it so close to the final four, I feel like I’ve done myself proud,” she said. “I got my hands dirty, faced some fears, and met some amazing new people. It’s been 14 years, and I walked in with a different head on my shoulders, really wanting to prove to myself that I could do it.”
Her best friend, Scarlett Moffatt, also voiced her sadness, saying, “It’s not going to be the same without her. She’s done amazing in every trial and challenge, and got stuck into camp life.”
But it wasn’t just Ashley who faced the ire of viewers. Sinitta was also eliminated after quitting mid-trial in Dragged Through Hell. The 80s popstar struggled with the challenge, which involved being shackled and solving complex puzzles with her partner, Craig Charles. Sinitta’s early exit prompted further fan backlash, with many feeling her departure was unfair.
As the show’s dramatic twists continue, the final five – Scarlett, Craig, Harry Redknapp, Sir Mo Farah, and Adam Thomas – are now left to battle it out in the final stages. Fans are eagerly awaiting Friday’s grand finale, where they will finally have a say in who takes home the crown.
