Jesy Nelson, 34, has offered a £10,000 reward after her car, filled with crucial hospital equipment for her twin daughters, was stolen from her driveway. The Little Mix star, who is currently caring for her 11-month-old daughters Ocean and Story, revealed in a heartfelt Instagram post that her black Defender was taken from her Brentwood, Essex home.
Jesy shared how devastated she was by the theft, explaining that the vehicle contained vital equipment she uses to care for her daughters, who were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1). The singer posted the car’s registration number, JJ73SSY, and appealed for any information on the vehicle’s whereabouts. The car was last tracked near Chelmsford.
She wrote on Instagram: “My car got stolen off the driveway in the early hours of this morning, if anyone sees a black defender, reg plate JJ73SSY, please if any of you have seen or know any information, DM me or contact the police. I have so much of my girls’ hospital equipment in there that’s really needed.”
Jesy and her ex-partner Zion, have been through immense hardship since their twins’ diagnosis in January. SMA1 is a severe, rare condition that weakens muscles by affecting motor neurons, with the most severe form (SMA1) leading to early death without intervention. Jesy has been vocal about her ongoing battle with the condition and her mission to get SMA1 included in the NHS’s newborn screening programme.
Despite the heartbreaking challenges, Jesy has been campaigning for improved testing and earlier diagnoses, as her daughters’ late diagnosis means they will never be able to walk.
