Anne Nolan Announces Cancer-Free Recovery After Long Battle

Anne Nolan, the veteran singer best known as part of The Nolans, has confirmed she is cancer-free following a prolonged and difficult fight with the disease.

The 75-year-old described her emotional reaction upon receiving the all-clear, saying she “had a little cry” — not out of sadness, but relief at having come through a deeply challenging period.

Nolan was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and later faced a recurrence in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has previously spoken about the isolation and fear she experienced at the time, describing the period as “horrendous.”

Her recovery, while widely welcomed, is also marked by personal loss. Nolan’s sisters, Bernie Nolan and Linda Nolan, both died from cancer. She acknowledged that her own remission is accompanied by a sense of sadness that they were not as fortunate.

Now living in Blackpool with her family, Nolan has said she is focused on making the most of her time, drawing strength from her children and grandchildren. She has begun pursuing personal ambitions and experiences she had previously postponed.

Despite her recovery, Nolan admitted that the psychological impact of her illness remains. She noted that moments of anxiety persist, particularly linked to how she first discovered her cancer.
