Zayn Malik Sparks Fan Backlash After Cancelling Special UK Show Just Hours Before Event

Fans of Zayn Malik have been left devastated after the singer abruptly cancelled a highly anticipated special event in the UK — just hours before it was due to take place.

The former One Direction star had been scheduled to appear at an exclusive fan gathering organised by Kingston record store Banquet Records.

But late on Sunday night, organisers delivered the disappointing news on social media: the event had been postponed after Malik fell ill.

In a statement shared online, Banquet Records confirmed the unexpected change.

“Unfortunately the ZAYN events on Monday are postponed due to illness,” the organisers wrote. “We wish him a speedy recovery and will contact ticket holders with new arrangements next week.”

The message also included a personal note from Malik apologising to fans.

“I’m really sorry but unfortunately I’m ill and unable to travel to the UK this week as planned,” he said, promising the team was working to reschedule the special fan Q&A session.

He added that he was gathering fans’ contact details so he could send them gifts as a gesture of appreciation for their support.

Fans Hit by Last-Minute Shock

While many supporters wished the singer a quick recovery, others expressed frustration at the extremely late cancellation.

Some fans revealed they had already travelled long distances — even internationally — to attend the event.

One disappointed supporter wrote online:

“We love and respect him, but this is unacceptable. Some of us spent over €200 on flights, hotels and trains.”

Another added:

A fan who had travelled from Brazil shared their frustration, saying they had crossed thousands of miles only to discover the event had been postponed the day before.
