Beloved KRIS-6 meteorologist Diamond Dickson has bravely opened up about her shocking diagnosis of an aggressive and rare form of kidney cancer, revealing the heartbreaking news to her fans in a deeply emotional video shared on social media. 😱

Corpus Christi NBC affiliate KRIS 6 meteorologist Diamond Dickson, 28, has revealed is fighting 'the most deadly kidney cancer someone can have.'

The 28-year-old weatherwoman, known for her radiant personality and warm presence on Texas TV, has been off the air since January, with fans left wondering about her absence. In a raw and candid post, Diamond shared that she had been diagnosed with what she called “the most deadly kidney cancer someone can have” in February, leaving both her and her supporters devastated.

A Battle Against the Odds

Dickson made her diagnosis known to viewers in a self-filmed video posted to Instagram on Saturday. She was visibly emotional but said she will continue to fight thanks to her faith
With tears in her eyes, Diamond explained that her doctors had told her that the survival chances were low and that there is “technically no cure” for the aggressive cancer she’s facing. Despite the daunting prognosis, Diamond is holding onto hope and leaning on her faith as she begins her difficult treatment journey.

“The past few months have been the hardest of my life,” Diamond said in the emotional video, which quickly went viral on social media. “But I refuse to let this cancer take me out. I’m not done living in my purpose; therefore, in Jesus’ name, I’m already healed.” 🙏💖

A Painful Journey to Diagnosis

Previous posts from the journalist - who has been a part of the station's weather team for more than two years - showed posts to the hospital. She was diagnosed in February following weeks of scans and emergency room visits
Diamond’s symptoms first appeared in December when she experienced severe pain in her kidneys. What she initially thought was a severe kidney infection turned out to be something much worse. After months of scans and emergency room visits, doctors finally confirmed her diagnosis in February.

She recalled how doctors described her as a “rare/unicorn case,” as she had no apparent health problems and led a healthy lifestyle, including regular workouts and proper nutrition. Yet, she was plagued by severe back pain that only grew worse, and it wasn’t until multiple trips to the ER that she finally received the heartbreaking news. đŸ„

Diamond has made it clear that she will not let this disease define her. In her post, she shared her commitment to fighting every step of the way, fueled by her belief that she has a powerful story to tell. “I’ve got quite the testimony to tell,” she said. “I’m pushing my body and fighting because I want to get back to doing what I love—forecasting the weather and working out again.” 💙
