Jordan Brook Shares Heartbreaking Health Update Amidst Meningitis Battle: “I Feel Like I’ve Gone 10 Rounds with Mike Tyson”
Jordan Brook, star of The Only Way Is Essex, has shared an emotional hospital update as he continues to battle viral meningitis and encephalitis. The 31-year-old was rushed to the hospital earlier this month, where he was diagnosed with the serious condition that has left him struggling both physically and mentally.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jordan opened up about his ongoing health struggles. He shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed with an IV drip in his wrist and visible bruising from the numerous attempts to fit a canula. “Canula’s are failing to stick. I’ve had over 30 fitted. My body feels battered and bruised and is struggling to accept my antiviral medication,” he wrote, detailing the toll the illness has taken on his body.
“Fighting a Mental Battle”
Jordan revealed that, despite initially feeling better on Friday, he has hit a plateau in his recovery. He admitted to feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, saying, “I feel like I have gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.” The reality TV star also shared that he is still battling pressure on the frontal lobes of his brain, making it difficult to stay positive.
He finished his post with a message of hope: “Thank you to everyone for your continued support, I could really do with some positivity. I will not let this win. JB.”
Sophie Kasaei’s Heartfelt Support
Jordan’s girlfriend, Geordie Shore star Sophie Kasaei, also shared a message of encouragement, telling him: “My everything, better days are coming. We are so close to it. Our baby boy needs his daddy to stay strong whilst mammy keeps him safe. You are truly amazing.” The couple, who have been together since 2022, are expecting their first child, a baby boy, after a two-year fertility journey.
Fans and Friends Rally Around
Following his emotional update, fans and celebrities alike rushed to offer their support. Chloe Ferry commented, “Get well soon, Jordan,” while Gemma Collins suggested, “Please play frequency healing sounds to heal the body YouTube x.” Saffron Lempriere praised Jordan for his positivity, saying, “If there’s one person that stays optimistic and positive for everyone, it’s you. You’ve got the strength to keep pushing.”
A Grueling Recovery Journey
Jordan previously shared the severity of his condition, explaining that he was diagnosed with both viral meningitis and encephalitis, which causes inflammation of the brain. He’s been undergoing IV treatments, pain management, and seizure monitoring as part of his recovery. Last week, he posted an uplifting update, revealing that he was learning to walk again and even ventured outside the hospital for a brief walk, marking a small but meaningful step in his recovery.
A Journey to Parenthood
The couple, who recently discovered they’re expecting a baby boy during a gender reveal celebration with friends and family, have been documenting their fertility journey on TOWIE and Geordie Shore. After a trip to a fertility clinic in Greece, they were able to conceive naturally, and now, despite the challenges Jordan is facing, they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little one.
Jordan’s battle continues, but with the love and support of his family, friends, and fans, he remains determined to fight through this difficult time.
