Talia Oatway, ex of reality star Aaron Chalmers, has shared an emotional update about their son, Oakley, who has undergone 20 surgeries in his short life. 💔
Their three-year-old son was born with Apert Syndrome, a complex condition affecting the skull, hands, and feet, causing bones to fuse before birth. Oakley’s health journey has been nothing short of harrowing for his mother, who bravely takes to Instagram to share the raw reality of their experience. 😢
In an emotional post, Talia spoke about the toll the constant hospital visits have taken on her:
“It’s ok to cry and it’s ok to be angry. It doesn’t mean we aren’t coping. Us medical families are doing our best.”
She reflected on the difficulty of caring for a child who can’t communicate his needs, describing how any small change could result in yet another operation. 😞
Talia has also previously revealed that Aaron has shown “zero interest” in Oakley’s medical care, which has sparked controversy. She shared:
“The fact that this person can just go online and start talking about his medical care, which he has zero interest in, is mind-blowing.”
While raising their son, Oakley, and his siblings on her own, Talia fights to stay strong and keep the reality of their situation visible. She said:
“I’m literally doing it on my own, and I’ve had enough.”
Oakley, who was diagnosed with hydrocephalus in addition to Apert Syndrome, has shown immense strength, though his condition may require him to use a wheelchair in the future. 😢 Talia remains his rock, and her love and dedication continue to inspire.
Talia’s post is a gut-wrenching reminder of the resilience of parents facing life-altering health battles with their children. 🌟
