Jesy Nelson’s mother, Janice White, has offered an emotional glimpse into the singer’s home life following her twin daughters’ diagnosis with spinal muscular atrophy Type 1.
Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, who were born prematurely in May 2025, require specialist care because the rare genetic condition affects movement, breathing and swallowing.
In Jesy’s new Prime Video documentary, Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, Janice shows a spare bedroom filled with feeding equipment and toys the girls cannot use because they need specially adapted items.
She explained that the room is kept out of sight because seeing the unused toys is too painful for Jesy. The family now hopes to donate suitable items to children who can benefit from them.
The documentary also follows Jesy’s campaign for newborn SMA screening across the UK as she continues raising awareness while caring for her daughters.
