Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are officially married after exchanging vows during an intimate church ceremony in the sun-drenched Algarve.
The Little Mix singer and Celtic footballer, both 32, tied the knot on Saturday at the historic Igreja Matriz de Estoi church near Faro, surrounded by approximately 70 close friends and relatives.
Perrie looked radiant in an elegant white lace gown as she arrived at the picturesque 16th-century church in a vintage white Mercedes convertible.
The couple’s long-awaited wedding came after ten years together, a four-year engagement and the arrival of their two children, Axel and baby daughter Alanis.
Perrie arrives in vintage Mercedes
The ceremony began shortly after 3pm in the small village of Estoi, close to the holiday villa Perrie owns in Portugal.
Alex arrived first, dressed in a classic black tuxedo, bow tie and sunglasses.
He entered the church alongside friends, his former footballer father Mark Chamberlain and his brother Christian, who wore coordinating black suits.
Perrie followed approximately 30 minutes later as the open-top Mercedes carried her through the village beneath clear blue skies.
Wearing statement gold earrings with her lace gown, the singer stepped from the car and walked arm-in-arm with her father, Alexander Edwards, towards the church.
The building had been decorated with white chrysanthemums for the occasion.
Six bridesmaids in sky blue
Perrie was followed by her mother Debbie and six bridesmaids, including her sister Caitlin.
The bridal party wore matching sky-blue silk gowns and carried white umbrellas to protect themselves from the 26C afternoon heat.
Inside, guests listened to a five-piece orchestra as Perrie and Alex exchanged vows during a ceremony lasting approximately 30 minutes.
The congregation included several of Alex’s former football teammates, among them Danny Welbeck, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Fulham midfielder Harrison Reed.
Although both the bride and groom have spent years in the public eye, they reportedly wanted the service to feel personal rather than theatrical.
Newlyweds greeted with petals and cheers
After being declared husband and wife, Perrie and Alex emerged from the church holding hands and smiling broadly.
Their guests cheered and threw white flower petals as the couple descended the steps into the village square.
A cloud of multicoloured smoke was released into the bright sky to mark the occasion.
Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World played as relatives and friends celebrated with bottles of Super Bock beer and Coke Zero.
Perrie and Alex remained close throughout the celebration, appearing overwhelmed with happiness after finally completing the wedding they had been planning for years.
A deliberately intimate celebration
Despite the couple’s fame, the ceremony was kept relatively small.
Perrie previously admitted that deciding who should be invited had caused her considerable anxiety.
She said the guest list had kept her awake at night because she found it difficult to exclude people from such an important occasion.
The final celebration was described as everything the couple had wanted: elegant, joyful and centred on the people closest to them.
Some local residents gathered outside the church after becoming curious about the activity.
One man wore a Celtic football shirt, delighting Alex’s friends, while others appeared unaware of the couple’s identities.
A wedding organiser reportedly asked villagers not to photograph the event, reflecting Perrie and Alex’s desire to retain some privacy.
Reception at luxury Algarve venue
The celebrations outside the church continued for approximately an hour before guests boarded Mercedes buses for the reception.
The party moved to Parrilla Natural, a South American-inspired restaurant and wedding venue in Vale do Lobo.
The luxury setting offered premium steaks, expensive wines and an elegant outdoor atmosphere where the newlyweds could continue celebrating away from the village crowds.
Guests had been staying at the five-star Conrad Algarve in Quinta do Lago, part of the region’s exclusive Golden Triangle.
The hotel features luxury suites and a Michelin-starred Mediterranean restaurant, with some rooms reportedly costing as much as £2,800 per night.
Relaxed celebrations before the wedding
Perrie and Alex spent the days leading up to their wedding enjoying the Algarve with friends and family.
The night before the ceremony, the couple remained with their children while guests gathered at Tony’s pizzeria for pizza, pasta and cocktails.
Most of the party returned to the hotel relatively early to prepare for the wedding.
Two days before the ceremony, the group celebrated a friend’s 30th birthday at Bamboo, an upmarket Asian-fusion restaurant.
They reportedly ate sushi, enjoyed cocktails and watched the opening game of the World Cup together.
Alex appeared relaxed and excited as he laughed with friends during the meal.
Other guests spent time at Maria’s, a popular family-run restaurant and rooftop bar in the area.
Jade Thirlwall absent due to festival
Perrie’s former Little Mix bandmate Jade Thirlwall did not attend because she was performing at the Primavera Sound festival in Porto, more than 300 miles away.
The absence was reportedly caused by the scheduling conflict rather than any personal disagreement.
Perrie has remained close to her former bandmates while building her solo career and family life following Little Mix’s decision to begin an extended break.
The singer’s wedding came during an eventful period in which she has also been adjusting to life as a mother of two.
Wedding four months after daughter’s birth
Perrie and Alex welcomed their daughter Alanis only four months before the ceremony.
They are also parents to son Axel, four.
The children were central to the wedding celebrations and spent the couple’s final unmarried evening with them.
Their presence made the occasion particularly emotional, transforming the ceremony from simply the culmination of a long romance into a celebration of the family Perrie and Alex have created together.
The couple began dating in 2016 after reportedly meeting through mutual friends.
Alex proposed during a romantic beach walk in 2022, presenting Perrie with a diamond ring as the sun set behind them.
Perrie finally finds her dream dress
Perrie had previously revealed that she had chosen her wedding gown and felt thrilled with the result.
The finished look remained classic and romantic, with intricate white lace and an elegant silhouette suited to the historic church.
Rather than arriving with a vast celebrity entourage, she entered the ceremony supported by her parents, sister and closest friends.
Alex’s traditional black tuxedo completed the timeless aesthetic.
The contrast between Perrie’s glamorous fame and the peaceful Portuguese village gave the wedding a dreamlike quality.
Ten years of love
An insider said the couple had been eagerly awaiting the celebration after spending a decade together.
During that time, they supported one another through Perrie’s international music career, Alex’s moves between major football clubs and the birth of their children.
Their relationship survived demanding schedules, long periods apart and intense public attention.
After the ceremony, none of those pressures appeared to matter.
Perrie and Alex walked from the church hand-in-hand while the people closest to them cheered.
It was the intimate wedding they had carefully planned, in a place already filled with happy family memories.
After ten years together, four years engaged and two beautiful children, Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had finally become husband and wife.
