The 37-year-old actress is preparing to welcome her first child in May 2026 with her partner Sam, after a long and emotional journey to motherhood.
🍼 A Determined Mother-to-Be
Jess revealed that her main priority for her baby is to create a home where her child will never feel unsafe or unsupported, reflecting on her own difficult childhood. She shared that she is determined that her baby boy will never experience the feelings of instability she endured growing up, saying: “I don’t want him growing up in some of the circumstances I did. I don’t want my child to ever feel like home isn’t a safe place. I want them to know home is a safe place.”
Jess has been open about her challenging upbringing, detailing how her father, Colin, struggled with alcohol addiction, and how the family faced “harsh lessons and heartbreak”. Jess’s path to motherhood has not been easy. She was diagnosed with lupus in 2023 and later faced the challenge of early menopause, which made her fertility journey even more complicated. In addition to undergoing IVF, Jess was already on several medications for lupus, including azathioprine and hydroxychloroquine, making the IVF process even more challenging for her.
Recalling the experience, she said: “It was challenging because I was really scared of the hook. We did a trial one to get my period on the right, setting, so I was using hormone tablets and injections and stuff.” Jess admitted that she was frightened of the potential side effects of the treatment but expressed relief that it eventually worked, leading her to this exciting stage of pregnancy.

Alongside preparing for motherhood, Jess continues to pursue her acting career. She stars in the upcoming horror film Jitters, set to be released on March 16, 2026, across platforms such as Apple TV.
