TOWIE Star Jordan Brook Reveals Heartbreaking Side Effects After Meningitis Battle — And Explains Why He Has Not Proposed To Pregnant Sophie Kasaei
TOWIE star Jordan Brook has spoken candidly about the lasting effects of his terrifying meningitis battle, admitting he is still struggling physically and emotionally as he prepares to become a father for the first time.

The 31-year-old reality personality was rushed to hospital in March after a virus attacked his brain, leaving him unable to speak or walk. After weeks of treatment, he was eventually allowed to return home in April, but his recovery remains ongoing.
Speaking on the latest episode of the TOWIE podcast You Alright Hun?, Jordan revealed that he is still dealing with distressing symptoms months after the medical emergency.
He explained that he now has a limp in his right leg, which he believes is linked to signals from his brain not yet fully recovering. He also said he has begun experiencing sensory overload in situations that would once have felt completely normal to him
For Jordan, who was previously confident performing and singing in front of crowds, the change has been deeply unsettling.
“I feel like I am just a shell,” he admitted, as he reflected on the emotional toll of the illness.
The star said one of his biggest fears has been whether he will be strong enough to face the next chapter of his life, with his partner, Geordie Shore favourite Sophie Kasaei, currently pregnant with their first child.
Jordan said he has had to be careful not to let his emotions overwhelm him, but admitted the pressure of wanting to recover for his unborn son has been difficult.
He shared that only recently he questioned whether he had the strength to get through the challenge ahead, describing that realisation as one of the hardest parts of his recovery.
The couple announced their baby news shortly before Christmas, after previously speaking openly about their struggles to conceive. Their joy, however, has now been mixed with the strain of Jordan’s serious health scare.
During the podcast, Jordan paid a heartfelt tribute to Sophie, 36, praising the way she supported him through his hospital ordeal while heavily pregnant herself.
He said he did not know how he would have coped without her, adding that he has been left in awe of how she managed such a frightening period while also preparing for motherhood.
Jordan described the experience of Sophie having to sit beside his hospital bed, not knowing whether he would recover, as “horrendous”.
He went on to say that Sophie has been “amazing” throughout the ordeal and that he now wants nothing more than for her pregnancy and birth to go smoothly.
The Essex star added that he hopes Sophie is able to enjoy motherhood after everything she has endured, saying she deserves happiness and peace after such a difficult few months.
Despite their strong relationship, Jordan also revealed that he will not be proposing in the immediate future.
He explained that Sophie has made it clear she does not want to get engaged while pregnant, meaning the couple plan to welcome their baby first before making any wedding plans.
Jordan suggested marriage could still be several years away, particularly as Sophie would also prefer their children to be close in age.
He said that if Sophie becomes pregnant again soon after their first child, she may still not want to plan a wedding during pregnancy, meaning their engagement and marriage timeline could depend on family plans.
“Definitely two, three, maybe four years before we get married,” he explained.
For now, Jordan’s focus remains firmly on his recovery, Sophie’s wellbeing and preparing for the arrival of their baby boy.
His honest comments have offered fans a rare glimpse into the reality behind his health battle, as he continues to rebuild his strength after one of the most frightening periods of his life.
