The celebrity chefs had been at odds for 16 years after their once-close friendship collapsed following a bitter restaurant dispute. The chefs were once so close that Gordon was best man at Marcus' wedding in 2000 and is godfather to his eldest child

Gordon, 59, and Marcus, 53, previously worked together for 15 years, with Marcus becoming one of Ramsay’s most successful protégés. Gordon was even best man at Marcus’s wedding and is godfather to his eldest child.

Their fallout began in 2008 after Marcus wanted to take control of the restaurant at London’s Berkeley Hotel, leading to a legal battle over the Pétrus name.

But the pair have since buried the hatchet, and are now set to reunite professionally on a new BBC Two daytime series.

Gordon’s production company will make the programme, while Marcus is expected to host.

Marcus said it was a “fantastic opportunity” to work with Gordon again, adding that it had been many years since they last shared a kitchen.

Gordon said the new show will celebrate home cooking, emotional stories and the kitchen as the heart of family life.
