Janet Montgomery Reveals Heartbreaking Split Just 10 Days After Birth of Second Child
Janet Montgomery, the star of New Amsterdam, has opened up about the emotional turmoil she faced after her husband, director and screenwriter Joe Fox, left her just ten days after the birth of their second child.

The 40-year-old actress, known for her role as Dr Lauren Bloom in the medical drama, shared the revelation in a heartfelt Instagram post. “Last year, my life changed in ways I never imagined,” she wrote. “Just ten days after welcoming my beautiful son, I faced the pain of becoming a single mother to two children.”

Montgomery described the challenges of adjusting to life as a mother and navigating parenthood alone. “The grief, the exhaustion, the fear, the uncertainty, and the heavy responsibility of always being there for two young children, no matter the circumstances,” she said, highlighting the profound impact of the separation.

Janet and Joe began their relationship in 2017, welcomed their first child in March 2019, and married in December 2019 in Jamaica. Over the past ten months, she has candidly shared her journey with fans online, from joyful milestones to moments of struggle, thanking them for their ongoing support.
“Your messages, comments, and encouragement have come at just the right time,” Montgomery wrote. “You’ve laughed with us, cried with us, cheered us on, and shared in everything in ways you may not even realise. This chapter has challenged me more than any other in my life, but it has also shown me the extraordinary strength in community.”

Despite the heartbreak, Janet expressed gratitude for the support of her followers, saying it helped her feel less alone during a profoundly difficult period.
The actress’ candid disclosure provides an intimate glimpse into the realities of single parenthood, even for those living in the public eye, and underscores the resilience required to navigate life’s unexpected challenges.
