💔 Jeremy Clarkson has revealed just how close he came to a life-threatening heart attack after doctors discovered one of his arteries was completely blocked.
The Clarkson’s Farm star, 66, opened up about the frightening 2024 health scare in the first episode of the new fifth series of his hit Prime Video show.
Speaking to his farming sidekick Kaleb Cooper, Jeremy admitted the situation had been far more serious than many fans realised.
In typical Clarkson fashion, he mixed humour with brutal honesty, telling Kaleb: “I’m back and not dead. The grim reaper will have to wait. It was f*ing close, though.”**
⚠️ The presenter was rushed to hospital in October 2024 after suffering severe chest pains.
Doctors later discovered that he had serious coronary artery problems, including one artery that was fully blocked.
Jeremy explained that the scare began after he noticed pins and needles in his arm while scrolling through his phone.
At first, the detail sounded ordinary. But it ended up being the warning sign that made him realise something could be seriously wrong.
He admitted that if he had not been using his phone at that exact moment, he might not have noticed the sensation — and may not have gone to hospital.
❤️ That coincidence may have saved his life.
Jeremy told Kaleb that he had not actually suffered a heart attack, but doctors made clear he had come dangerously close.
He described the condition of his arteries in typically vivid style, saying one was totally blocked, another looked like something hanging from the roof of a cave, and a third had become so clogged that it had formed branches.
His conclusion was blunt: his heart was not getting enough blood.
When he asked doctors how close he had been to a heart attack, the answer shook him.
They reportedly told him: “Days.”
💉 Surgeons later treated Jeremy by inserting a stent.
A stent is a small expandable mesh tube used to open narrowed or blocked coronary arteries and help restore blood flow to the heart.
For Jeremy, the procedure appears to have prevented a far worse outcome.
But the experience has clearly left a mark.
The former Top Gear host has now been warned by doctors that he must make significant lifestyle changes.
For a man known for rich food, pints, cigarettes, stress, speed and refusing to live quietly, that warning is impossible to ignore.
🌊 Jeremy previously revealed that the health scare began while he was on holiday.
He said he first felt unwell after swimming in the Indian Ocean.
Although the swim was not especially far — he compared it to the length of two swimming pools — he said he reached the beach feeling as if there was more water in his lungs than in Lake Superior.
He later returned to Britain, where his condition began to worsen.
He described feeling clammy, experiencing tightness in his chest and then developing pins and needles in his left arm.
Those symptoms eventually led to him being taken to hospital by ambulance.
🚑 At hospital, doctors carried out tests including an ECG, blood tests and X-rays.
A heart attack was initially ruled out, but further checks revealed the serious artery problems that needed urgent treatment.
The revelation that he was only days away from a heart attack stunned viewers and added a dramatic new layer to the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm.
Fans are used to seeing Jeremy battling bad weather, broken machinery, council rows, farming chaos and Kaleb’s exasperation.
But this was a very different kind of drama.
This time, the danger was inside his own body.
🌾 Jeremy linked the health scare partly to the intense stress of opening his pub, The Farmer’s Dog.
The pub had opened just weeks before his hospital dash, and Jeremy described the pressure around the project as “stressful.”
Anyone who has followed Clarkson’s Farm knows that Jeremy rarely does anything the easy way.
From running Diddly Squat Farm to launching new ventures, he often throws himself into difficult, chaotic and exhausting projects.
But this scare appears to have forced him to confront the physical cost of that lifestyle.
🔥 The moment also showed a rare vulnerable side of Clarkson.
He may joke about death and describe medical problems with absurd comparisons, but beneath the humour was a real fear.
Being told you were days from a heart attack is not a throwaway line.
It is the kind of warning that changes the way a person sees their body, their work and their future.
Jeremy’s fans know him as loud, stubborn, funny and often deliberately outrageous.
But in this scene, he was also a man who had been badly frightened.
💬 Kaleb Cooper, who has become one of the biggest stars of the farming series, listened as Jeremy explained what had happened.
Their bond has become one of the key reasons viewers love the show.
Kaleb often mocks Jeremy, corrects him and calls out his mistakes, while Jeremy relies on him more than he usually admits.
So hearing Jeremy explain that he had nearly died added emotional weight to their usual banter.
It reminded viewers that behind the comedy of the farm is a real friendship — and a real life with real risks.
📺 The fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm premieres on June 3.
Episodes one to four are released first, followed by episodes five and six on June 10, with the final two instalments arriving on June 17.
Jeremy has already teased the new run as the show’s “most dramatic yet,” and his health scare proves he was not exaggerating.
The series is expected to follow more farming battles, the continued fallout from his pub project and the usual chaos surrounding Diddly Squat.
But this time, there is a more serious shadow over the laughs.
💛 For fans, Jeremy’s admission is both alarming and strangely reassuring.
Alarming because he came so close to a major cardiac event.
Reassuring because he got help in time, underwent treatment and is still here to tell the story in his usual blunt, darkly funny way.
His experience also serves as a reminder that chest pain, tightness, clamminess, breathlessness or unusual arm sensations should never be brushed off.
Jeremy may have joked his way through the explanation, but the message underneath was serious.
✨ Jeremy Clarkson has spent decades making danger part of his public brand — fast cars, bold opinions, risky stunts and chaotic farming adventures.
But this was not television danger.
This was real.
And by his own admission, it was close.
The grim reaper may have to wait.
But Jeremy Clarkson has been given a warning he cannot afford to ignore.
