Kaleb Cooper Leaves This Morning Hosts Laughing With Labour Day Confession

Kaleb Cooper on Clarkson's Farm, live from Diddly Squat Farm.🚜 Kaleb Cooper had This Morning hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley in stitches after revealing he did not rush straight to hospital when his fiancée Taya went into labour — because he had a field to finish first.

The Clarkson’s Farm favourite, 27, appeared live from Diddly Squat Farm on Tuesday when he shared the very farmer-like story behind the birth of his third child.

Kaleb and his fiancée Taya, also 27, welcomed their baby boy Ashton last summer, but it turns out the build-up to his arrival was not exactly the dramatic dash to hospital many people might imagine.

Instead, Kaleb calmly carried on working.

Rather than immediately dropping everything, he asked whether she wanted him to come right away.

According to Kaleb, Taya told him not immediately — but to come shortly.

That was all the permission he needed.

Kaleb told the hosts he replied that he would finish the field first and then head over.

And, true to form, that is exactly what he did.

After finishing the field, he went home, had a shower, ate dinner, then finally went to the maternity centre.

The timing, somehow, still worked out.

Kaleb joked that he arrived, the baby was born, and the family were back home within an hour and a half.

Ben Shephard could not hide his disbelief, asking whether Kaleb really had a shower and dinner before going to see Taya.

Kaleb’s answer was simple: “Yeah!”

He is practical, blunt, completely unfiltered and somehow manages to make even a birth story sound like part of the farming schedule.

For most parents, a labour phone call would trigger panic.

For Kaleb, it triggered a quick calculation of how much field work was left.

It was peak Clarkson’s Farm energy — and exactly the kind of dry rural logic that has made him one of the show’s breakout stars.

At the time, Kaleb shared the happy news on Instagram with a sweet photo of his newborn son wrapped in a blanket and wearing a blue knitted hat.

He revealed that Ashton weighed 6lb 13oz and was born at Chipping Norton maternity unit at 6:28pm.

A second photo showed Taya holding their baby while a Chinese takeaway sat in front of the new parents — because in true Kaleb style, the celebration was warm, simple and very down-to-earth.

That detail melted fans’ hearts.

Behind the jokes about finishing fields and eating dinner before the birth, it showed the thoughtful side of the young farmer.

He may be famously no-nonsense, but he clearly wanted to make sure the people helping deliver his baby were looked after too.

🌟 Jeremy Clarkson was the first to break the news of Ashton’s birth in his newspaper column.

The former Top Gear host, 66, joked at the time that Kaleb received word Taya was in labour and responded by saying he would be there after finishing harvesting the field.

Jeremy called the reaction incredibly “farmerish” and joked that one friend suggested naming the baby after the field Kaleb had been harvesting.

There was only one problem.

The field was apparently called Deadman.

Unsurprisingly, the couple chose Ashton instead.

🚜 Kaleb has become one of British TV’s most-loved farming personalities since Clarkson’s Farm launched in 2021.

The hit Amazon series follows Jeremy Clarkson’s chaotic attempts to run Diddly Squat Farm, with Kaleb often acting as the voice of reason, frustration and agricultural reality.

Fans quickly fell for his sharp humour, short temper with Jeremy’s mistakes and deep knowledge of farming despite his young age.

He has become so popular that many viewers now see him as the real star of the show.

💛 His This Morning labour story only added to that reputation.

It was funny because it felt completely authentic.

Kaleb did not dress it up.

He did not pretend he had been overcome with panic.

He simply explained what happened: Taya called, he finished the field, showered, ate, went to the maternity centre, welcomed the baby and got home.

For anyone outside farming, it sounded unbelievable.

For anyone who knows Kaleb, it sounded exactly right.

😂 Ben and Cat’s reaction said it all.

The hosts could barely contain their laughter as Kaleb delivered the story with total seriousness.

The charm of the moment was that Kaleb did not seem to realise quite how outrageous it sounded.

To him, finishing the field before heading to the birth was not neglectful or dramatic.

It was just practical.

The field needed finishing.

The baby was coming.

Both jobs got done.

❤️ Kaleb and Taya now share three children, and fans have loved seeing glimpses of his family life away from the farm.

Although he is best known for arguing with Jeremy over crops, tractors and farm decisions, his posts about fatherhood show a softer side.

Baby Ashton’s arrival marked another emotional milestone for the couple, who have built a family while Kaleb’s fame has grown rapidly.

Despite becoming a TV favourite, Kaleb still appears happiest when talking about farming, family and home.

🌾 That is the secret to his appeal.

He has not polished himself into a celebrity.

He still feels like the same young farmer who first walked onto screens and told Jeremy Clarkson exactly what he was doing wrong.

And whether he is harvesting, becoming a dad or making This Morning hosts laugh, Kaleb remains completely himself.

His labour confession may have shocked Ben and Cat, but for Clarkson’s Farm fans, it was classic Kaleb Cooper.

A baby on the way.

A field to finish.

Dinner before the hospital.

Chinese for the midwives.

And somehow, everything worked out.

Only Kaleb could turn one of life’s most dramatic moments into another day on the farm.
