Patricia, 60, passed away in the early hours of Monday morning at St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown, just months after being diagnosed with stage four cancer.

Dermot, best known to fans as Grandad on the BBC comedy, said he and his family were “absolutely devastated” by the loss.A woman with dark hair in a hospital gown with fruit illustrations.

He told The Irish Sun: “Chickie left us about half three in the morning. We are absolutely devastated. I am going to miss her so much.”A woman in a black, hot pink, and white dress and a man in a black suit with a lavender shirt and hot pink tie pose for a photo.

Patricia received the shock diagnosis earlier this year after travelling to Spain for a hernia operation. Doctors there discovered several tumours in her stomach and told her they could not proceed with surgery.Mrs. Brown, arms outstretched, stands behind four cast members, all sitting on a couch.

She later returned to Ireland for treatment at Beaumont Hospital, where she underwent chemotherapy.

The mum-of-seven had previously spoken movingly about the pain of telling her sons the heartbreaking news from her hospital bed.

One of her final wishes was to spend another Christmas with her family, especially her three-year-old granddaughter Ellie, whom she hoped would remember one last kiss from her.

Patricia had also supported Dermot through his own cancer battle before he was given the all-clear in 2020.

Her death has left Dermot, their children and wider family facing an unimaginable loss after months of bravery, love and hope.
