Holly Willoughby’s mother Linda has delighted fans after celebrating her 78th birthday in seriously glamorous style.
The TV presenter’s youthful-looking mum posed for a striking Instagram photo shared by Holly’s sister Kelly, 47, and it did not take long for followers to notice just how radiant she looked.
Linda, who has often been compared to her famous daughter, looked fabulous in a sparkling red dress, heart-shaped sunglasses and elegant gold jewellery. She completed the birthday look with a gold Cartier bracelet and matching earrings, giving the whole outfit a fun, confident and celebratory feel.
Kelly marked the special day with a sweet tribute to her mother, writing: “Mama. Happy 78! You are the dream. @hollywilloughby thank our lucky stars every day that you are ours. Love you.”
The post quickly reminded fans where Holly gets her polished style and famous good looks from. Linda and Holly have long been described as lookalikes, and the family resemblance was impossible to miss in the latest snap.
The birthday celebration comes after Holly recently shared her own heartfelt tribute to Kelly, calling her sister her “best friend” as she marked her 47th birthday.
Posting a throwback photo of the pair together, Holly wrote: “Happy birthday to my beautiful sister and best friend @ladywilloughby … spreading joy wherever she goes… love you big sis.”
The Willoughby sisters have a close bond both personally and professionally. Kelly is the managing director of Holly’s wellness brand Wylde Moon, and the pair have also worked together as children’s authors.
Holly first shared a glamorous photo of herself and Kelly last month after attending Kelly’s husband David Foster’s lavish Studio 54-themed 50th birthday party.
The former This Morning presenter dressed for the occasion in a pink feathered mini dress, showing off her legs while adding black platform heels for extra height. The sun-soaked garden celebration appeared to be a joyful family affair, with Holly also sharing a playful glimpse of her father Brian, who brought back his famous moustache especially for the party.
In her caption at the time, Holly wrote that “Studio 54 came to Sussex” as the family celebrated David’s milestone birthday. She also praised her mother Linda as the best dressed guest of the night, while joking that her father deserved a “bonus prize” for reviving his legendary moustache.
The family moment gave fans a rare glimpse into Holly’s life away from television, at a time when she appears to be stepping into a fresh new chapter.
Holly has recently become much more active on Instagram, sharing everything from holiday photos to fashion moments and behind-the-scenes updates. Earlier this week, she teased an exciting new project after attending what she described as a “brilliant meeting” in London.
The presenter shared selfies from a Lime Bike ride through the capital, writing that she had found “a patch of sun in between the rain” before revealing that “things are happening at quite the pace.”
She added that she could not wait to bring the project to life and share it with fans.
The update comes amid reports that Holly is preparing to move further away from traditional television and explore the digital world. After years as one of ITV’s biggest stars, she is said to be working on a new online project that would involve both producing and presenting her own streamed show.
For now, however, it was Linda who stole the spotlight.
