For nearly 30 years, Coronation Street’s Tyrone Dobbs has struggled in love—but his portrayer, Alan Halsall, has also had a rocky romantic journey. The 43-year-old actor has quietly split from girlfriend Ellie Dolan after just one year together.
Sources reveal that despite being smitten initially, Halsall and Dolan realised their relationship couldn’t withstand everyday pressures. “They got on like a house on fire, but ultimately realised they were moving in different directions,” an insider said.
The pair shared a close bond with each other’s children: Dolan’s two kids quickly befriended Halsall’s 12-year-old daughter, Sienna. Halsall, who previously welcomed Sienna with ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson, was protective of his daughter and introduced Dolan only when he saw a future for them.
The couple went public in May 2025, sharing happy moments on Instagram and attending co-star Jack P. Shepherd’s wedding. Yet nine months later, after removing shared photos and unfollowing each other online, the split became apparent. “Ellie has taken the split hard,” a source added.
Now adapting to single life, Halsall has immersed himself in work on the Weatherfield cobbles, spending time with friends, hitting the golf course, and supporting Sienna as she begins her first acting role this Christmas.
While Halsall’s love life may be in flux, his dedication to family remains steadfast.
