Katie Price has revealed that she is stepping back from the frantic search for her missing husband Lee Andrews, a week after he reportedly vanished under bizarre circumstances.
The former glamour model, 47, made the revelation on the latest episode of The Katie Price Show podcast, which she had to cut short after receiving a phone call from the police. In a candid message to her listeners, Katie explained she would no longer be actively chasing Lee’s whereabouts, leaving the matter in the hands of authorities.
“There’s nothing I can do, nothing more I can say. The police are dealing with it, and I’m just leaving it to them,” she told her audience. “I’ve got lots of exciting things coming up, and I’m not going to sit here and cry or do nothing. No, because I’m not that person. I’m taking a step back for my own sanity.”
Katie tied the knot with Lee in January following a whirlwind 10-day romance. But the marriage has already been overshadowed by confusion and fear, as Lee reportedly went dark mid-conversation last Wednesday while attempting to board a flight from Dubai to the UK.
Initially, Katie begged fans to help track down her husband after a series of alarming WhatsApp messages. According to her, Lee told her he had been cuffed and put into a van, and that his phone had been confiscated. At one point, Lee shared a live location and instructed Katie to contact the embassy, claiming he was being taken to a so-called “black site.”
“He seemed to go off the grid,” Katie said, recalling her worry over the last week. “I don’t know what to believe anymore. For my own sanity, I’m stepping back and letting the professionals handle it.”
Hours before the podcast aired, Katie posted a series of cryptic messages on Instagram, reflecting her efforts to focus on herself amid the drama. One read: “Sometimes you just have to accept the situation and say, it’s okay, it happens, it’s life.” Another post declared: “Focus on yourself, because nothing is more powerful than a woman who knows her worth, chases her goals, and dares to dream big.”
Katie also clarified that recent sightings of Lee online were not him but activity she had conducted on his Facebook account herself. “I have Lee’s Facebook. It’s not him on this, it’s me,” she wrote, though the post has since been deleted.
Amid the mystery, reports have suggested Lee may not have been kidnapped after all. Sources claim he is instead holed up in a run-down villa in Dubai, communicating only with a small circle via a burner phone while planning a route out of what insiders call a “ginormous hole he’s buried himself in.”
Katie’s mother-in-law, Trisha Andrews, 61, told the press she was concerned for her son but admitted she was unsure whether he had actually been kidnapped. “I don’t know, he could have been. I’ve not seen the video,” she said. She also questioned the logistics, wondering why handcuffs or other restraints hadn’t been used.
Friends of Trisha echoed her concern, saying the family simply wants Lee to be safe. Meanwhile, Katie’s own supporters have rallied around her, offering messages of encouragement during an emotionally exhausting week.
“This is not a publicity stunt,” a friend of Katie told The Sun. “No matter what Lee has or hasn’t done, she still loves him. These WhatsApps prove she’s as blindsided as everyone else by his movements. She wants anyone with information to contact her or the police.”
Katie described her decision to step back as a matter of self-preservation. “I’m overwhelmed, but it’s because I do handle it—all of it, all the time,” she told listeners. “I’ve got to look after myself and let the authorities do their work. What will be, will be.”
The Daily Mail previously reported that Lee had been seen “active” on social media, a claim initially made by former Apprentice star Luisa Zissman. Katie clarified she was monitoring his accounts, not him. Reports also suggested Lee had boasted in the weeks before his disappearance about working as an arms dealer with “dangerous people,” though insiders question the veracity of these claims.
Despite the confusion and relentless media scrutiny, Katie remains determined to maintain her composure and focus on her own life. Her podcast title this week, “My Tentacles Are Up, I Am Not Stupid,” reflected her stance on managing the situation.
Katie’s emotional posts, phone calls, and public statements show a woman grappling with uncertainty, a whirlwind marriage, and a missing spouse, all while under the relentless gaze of the media and social media commentary.
