Alison Hammond wowed viewers on This Morning on Friday, looking radiant in a delicate green tea dress alongside co-host Dermot O’Leary. The 51-year-old presenter has undergone an incredible five-year transformation, shedding 11 stone after a health scare revealed she was pre-diabetic — a warning that prompted a complete lifestyle overhaul.
During the episode, Alison and Dermot spoke to the stars of Rivals — David Tennant, Danny Dyer, and Emily Atack — as well as viral ‘granfluencers’ Sue and Geoff Vaughan, and Joan and Jimmy O’Shaughnessy.
Alison, who once weighed 28–30 stone, revealed how she has maintained her figure through a combination of healthy eating and disciplined workouts, without relying on weight-loss jabs. Speaking to the Daily Mail, she admitted that while she still enjoys treats on The Great British Bake Off, she only samples the creations that earn a handshake from Paul Hollywood.
She shared insights into her fitness regime, crediting her personal trainer for keeping her accountable:
“I’ve got a personal trainer — she’s amazing. When I’m at home, I’ll have a session with her in the morning, just an hour, maybe four days a week. When I’m working, I’ll go for a walk instead.”
Alison also incorporated Reformer Pilates and early-morning circuit classes into her routine to improve flexibility and stamina. Speaking about her Pilates sessions, she joked:
“I’m as stiff as a board, so it’s been brilliant for me. And the circuit class at 6:30am — a full hour of old-school gym — leaves me feeling amazing.”
Not everything in wellness appeals to Alison, though. She admitted to trying a cold plunge pool once, saying:
“Absolutely not! It lasted about a minute. I was like, ‘Why am I literally trying to kill myself?’”
Alison’s journey is not just about dropping the pounds — it’s a testament to discipline, self-care, and embracing a healthier lifestyle while balancing a busy presenting schedule. Her transformation continues to inspire fans across the UK, proving that consistency and commitment can lead to life-changing results.
