Bobby Norris has shared a candid video of his post-surgery recovery, showing his swollen and bandaged face as he reflected on the judgment he’s experienced since undergoing a facelift at 39. The TOWIE star, who has long been open about his cosmetic procedures, went under the knife in March 2026 to undergo a neck and face lift, alongside a lower blepharoplasty, after years of “abusing fillers” and facing online trolling.
In his latest Instagram post, Bobby revealed the challenges he faced while recovering in Turkey, including an encounter with a woman who, in his words, “looked at me like I farted in her Gucci handbag.” The woman, whom Bobby humorously referred to as a “lady of the night,” made a judgmental face when she saw him, which left Bobby reflecting on how quick people are to judge others.
“Isn’t it funny how some people are just so judgy in life?” Bobby said as he filmed himself with his facial compression garment still on. He continued, “I’m fine with judgment. Everyone’s got opinions. I own up to my surgery—hence me talking about it all over social media.” Bobby also pointed out the irony of being judged by someone whose own profession is often looked down upon, but still said he wasn’t bothered by it. “I won’t lose sleep over it, but I just found it weird,” he added.
Despite facing harsh judgment for his decisions, Bobby remained upbeat in his message. “Love & Light to all the little Judge Judies,” he captioned his post, maintaining his usual positive attitude in the face of public scrutiny. His followers were divided in their reactions, with some supporting his decision to embrace surgery, while others defended the woman, suggesting that she might have been shocked by Bobby’s appearance.
Bobby’s decision to undergo the facelift and share his journey with his followers has sparked a broader conversation about cosmetic surgery and body image. Last month, Bobby unveiled his new look on This Morning, revealing that he had decided to go under the knife after years of using fillers. He explained that he had “abused fillers” for ten years, resulting in his skin becoming stretched out and “like a deflated balloon.”
In a frank conversation with This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Bobby explained why he opted for surgery despite his relatively young age. “I was like a space hopper,” he said. “By the time I removed them all, there wasn’t going to be a cream on the market that was going to get me there.”
The surgeries, which involved lifting, tightening, and repositioning muscles and skin around his face, neck, and eyes, were a form of correction after years of overuse of non-surgical enhancements. “Skin is about elasticity, and I’d stretched it,” Bobby shared. “I was filling up a balloon for ten years and then one day trying to pop the balloon—it’s going to be stretched out and baggy.”
Although he experienced some discomfort during recovery, Bobby defended his decision to have the surgery, stating that it was necessary after what he described as “abusing fillers” for so long. “I don’t regret having the facelift because this is almost corrective of the abuse I had given myself,” he admitted, emphasizing the importance of being honest about cosmetic procedures, especially in an era of social media influencers who often promote unrealistic beauty standards.
However, when asked if he’d had enough surgery, Bobby didn’t rule out future procedures. “I can’t lie and say I wouldn’t have any more,” he confessed. “I think body dysmorphia is kind of a thing… it’s never something that I just rush into.”
Bobby’s openness about his experiences with surgery and his body image struggles has made him a relatable figure for many. His journey serves as a reminder that beauty standards, both online and offline, can be difficult to navigate, and that the pressure to conform can lead people to take extreme measures with their appearance.
As Bobby continues to recover from his surgeries and deal with both external judgment and his own body image issues, he remains committed to being transparent with his fans. His honesty about his surgery and the reasons behind it has sparked important conversations about cosmetic enhancements and the realities of social media portrayals.
Bobby’s story is one of self-reflection, learning to love oneself, and coming to terms with the pressures of living up to public expectations. As he continues to document his journey, his followers are likely to see more of his struggles and triumphs, and his message of self-acceptance will resonate with many who are also battling similar pressures.
