Adam Frisby Fights for Surrogacy Law Change After Heartfelt This Morning Appeal

Fashion mogul Adam Frisby, alongside his fiancé Jamie Corbett, is pushing to change surrogacy laws in the UK after sharing their personal journey on This Morning. The couple, who recently welcomed their daughter Leven through a surrogate in the US, are now battling UK law, which currently doesn’t legally recognize them as her parents despite their biological connection.Adam Frisby's surrogacy petition faces huge change after This Morning appearance

Appearing on the ITV talk show, Adam revealed the heart-wrenching situation, explaining that under UK law, the surrogate is automatically recognized as the legal mother of a child born via surrogacy, even if there’s no biological connection. This means that Leven, despite being their biological child, is considered “parentless” in the eyes of UK law.

In contrast, the laws in the US offer more legal protection for surrogacy, which is why Adam and Jamie chose to have their child born there. “We’re legally recognized as her parents in the States from the minute she is born,” Jamie said, pointing out that in the UK, the legal process to establish parental rights can take 8-10 months.Adam and his fiancé Jamie Corbett appeared on This Morning

The couple is calling for immediate change, with their petition for surrogacy law reform gaining significant support, now reaching over 101,000 signatures. They are fighting to ensure that all parents, including those through surrogacy, are legally recognized from birth, avoiding lengthy legal battles. The pair are petitioning to be legally recognised as their daughter's parents

Adam expressed his gratitude to This Morning for allowing them to share their story, writing on social media, “Our inbox is flooded with love and we appreciate it more than you’ll ever know!” The couple hopes that their efforts will bring about much-needed changes for surrogacy laws in the UK, making the process fairer for all parents.
