Gemma Collins Opens Up About Her Intimate Surgery and Confidence Struggles
Gemma Collins has shared a candid and personal update on her cosmetic journey, revealing how a recent intimate surgery has helped her regain confidence in her body. The 45-year-old reality TV star discussed the procedure and how it has positively impacted her self-esteem, marking a new chapter in her ongoing pursuit of body confidence.

Appearing on I’m A Celebrity South Africa, Gemma spoke openly with Sam Thompson about her “designer vagina” surgery. She explained that she had felt insecure due to body changes, which led her to make the decision for cosmetic surgery. “Sometimes, clearly, everyone has a slightly different body shape,” she said. “And like women’s breasts, mine started to sag a little bit, and you can’t do anything about it. It made me feel a little insecure, and I didn’t want to, you know… feel like that with anyone.”

Gemma admitted that the decision to undergo intimate surgery was not an easy one, but it gave her the boost she needed to feel more confident in her own skin. “It was about doing something for me,” she added. “I don’t want to feel insecure anymore. This has really helped me.”
The procedure itself was quick, with Gemma revealing that it took just 40 minutes, and she was back on her feet shortly afterward. “I had the surgery on a Sunday at 10 a.m., and just 40 minutes later, I was out shopping for a new pair of Chanel shoes!” Gemma shared, demonstrating her quick recovery. “I iced, and I got some Hibiscrub to take home. Three days later, I was fully recovered and ready to get back to everything!”

Gemma, who has been a long-time favorite on The Only Way Is Essex, first opened up about the surgery while relaxing in the camp with fellow celebrity Scarlett Moffatt. Despite the quick recovery, she acknowledged that she wasn’t quite back to 100% when speaking to her campmates.
As she continues her journey of self-love and confidence, Gemma remains unashamed of her decision to pursue surgery. In an honest interview, she reflected, “It’s not about what other people think; it’s about what makes me happy. I live once, so why not make myself feel good?”
Gemma’s openness and transparency about her body have sparked discussion, particularly around self-esteem and body image. While some might criticize her decision, for Gemma, it’s all about embracing her body on her terms, and she’s unapologetically happy with her choices.
