Jesy Nelson Shares Heartwarming Video of Her Twin Daughters Amid SMA Battle
Jesy Nelson has shared a touching video of her twin daughters, Ocean and Story, holding hands, just days after revealing that her car—and the vital medical equipment needed for her daughters—were stolen. The singer, who has been an outspoken advocate for SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) testing, took to social media to share a precious moment between her nine-month-old twins as they relaxed on the floor, holding hands while wearing matching yellow outfits.
In January, Jesy revealed that Ocean and Story were diagnosed with SMA Type 1, a rare and life-threatening condition that affects muscle function. Since then, she has campaigned tirelessly for newborn screening for SMA1 to ensure that other babies are diagnosed earlier and can receive life-changing treatments.
However, Jesy’s journey recently took a painful turn when her car, which contained essential medical equipment, was stolen from her driveway. Despite the heartbreaking setback, Jesy remains focused on advocating for better testing and treatments for SMA. She even offered a £10,000 reward for the return of the stolen items, emphasizing how crucial this equipment is for her daughters’ care.

In her latest video, Jesy expressed her deep love for her daughters, captioning the clip with, “My whole heart and soul.” The adorable video quickly garnered thousands of likes, with celebrity friends and fans flooding the comments with support, including kind words from Love Island‘s Shaughna Phillips and singer Whigfield.
Jesy also shared an update on her successful campaign to have SMA testing added to the newborn screening process in England, which will roll out later this year. Despite the progress, Jesy highlighted that there is still much more to be done to ensure that all babies are tested, and no child misses out on potentially life-saving treatments.
Jesy’s dedication to her daughters and the SMA community continues to inspire, and she remains hopeful for a future where more babies receive early diagnosis and treatment.
