When asked if his mother’s sense of humor had been affected by her diagnosis, Charlie was adamant: “No, she is still the funniest woman in the world,” he said. “She can do so much with just a look or a wink.” Despite her health challenges, Charlie fondly remembered the joy of sharing the stage with her and the lasting impact her career had on audiences over the years.
Reflecting on the family’s reaction to Pauline’s diagnosis in 2021, Charlie emphasized that they have taken it “one day at a time.” With his participation in the London Marathon, he carries with him a picture from the day he was born, a gift from his father, which he plans to carry with him during the 26.2-mile race.
