Scarlett Moffatt has expressed her disappointment after being eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, just one day before the grand finale. The Gogglebox star, who was the last woman standing in the competition, faced a grueling trial that ultimately led to her eviction.
“I felt like I was so close. I was the last girl standing,” Moffatt remarked to hosts Ant and Dec as she reflected on her journey. Her exit paves the way for an all-male final, with Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former football manager Harry Redknapp, actor and DJ Craig Charles, and actor Adam Thomas all vying for the title of “ultimate legend 2026.”
A Tougher Challenge Than Before
Moffatt, who won the 2016 edition of I’m A Celebrity, confessed that her experience on the South Africa spin-off was far more challenging than her original jungle stint. “Just the trials. Who comes up with these? They’re sickos,” she quipped, clearly exhausted by the tough tasks.
Reflecting on her decision to return, Moffatt shared a heartfelt tribute to the Geordie hosts: “This show honestly means everything to us. I just feel like growing up, I watched you two on SMTV Live, and hearing your accent made me feel like, if I wanted to do it, then I could, because of you. It means a lot.” She added, “I’ve really, really had the best time.”
Support for Sir Mo Farah
As for her fellow campmates, Moffatt couldn’t help but praise their quirky personalities. “We’re all as mad as a box of frogs, aren’t we? I just feel like everyone’s eccentrically wonderful.” When asked who she hoped would win, Moffatt didn’t hesitate, endorsing Sir Mo Farah as her choice: “Please Mo. He is just the most wonderful human being. There’s not a bad bone in his body.”
The Trial That Led to Scarlett’s Departure
The trial that sealed Moffatt’s fate involved counting coloured balls descending a tube while being showered with maggots, cockroaches, crickets, and mealworms. The contestant whose estimate of the number of blue balls was furthest from the correct number faced eviction, and unfortunately for Scarlett, she was the one to go.
Memorable Moments in the Jungle
The episode also featured the remaining celebrities completing the iconic Cyclone challenge, where they had to navigate a water slide while avoiding large balls and high-pressure hoses. This victory earned them heartwarming phone messages from their loved ones. In a lighter moment, the group enjoyed a breakfast of ten eggs after successfully catching them from a large “chicken” perched in a tree above their camp.
The Finale Awaits
With Moffatt out of the competition, the final showdown will take place on Friday night. Fans can tune in at 7:30pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX, and STV Player to see who will emerge victorious in the highly anticipated all-male finale of I’m A Celebrity South Africa.
