Jesy Nelson Shares Heart-Melting Photo of Twins as They Face More Tests in SMA Battle
Singer Jesy Nelson has shared a touching new photo of her twin daughters, offering fans a glimpse of hope and tenderness as the babies continue their fight against a devastating genetic illness.
The former Little Mix star revealed earlier this year that her daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, had been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 — one of the most severe forms of the condition.
Despite the heartbreak, Nelson has remained determined to keep her followers updated on their journey.
This week, the 34-year-old singer posted a series of intimate images of the twins, including a sweet snap of one of the girls smiling while being fed through a nasal tube.
Alongside the picture, Nelson wrote a heartfelt caption:
“Nothing better than coming home and seeing this.”

Born Early, Fighting Hard
Ocean and Story were born prematurely at just 31 weeks — months before their due date.
Shortly after their birth, doctors confirmed that both babies had SMA1, a rare genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness and can severely affect movement, breathing and life expectancy.
Nelson has previously spoken candidly about the frightening reality of the diagnosis, admitting doctors warned that children with SMA1 may struggle to walk and, in some cases, may not live beyond early childhood.
Yet the twins have already become symbols of strength for thousands of fans following their story.

A Mother’s Campaign for Change
The singer has also transformed her personal heartbreak into activism.
Earlier this year, Nelson launched a petition urging the UK government to introduce routine newborn screening for SMA, arguing that early diagnosis can dramatically improve treatment outcomes.
The campaign quickly gathered almost 150,000 signatures, prompting renewed attention to the issue at a national level.
Nelson later admitted she felt “both happy and emotional” when it appeared that policymakers were finally beginning to listen.

Moments of Joy Amid the Struggle
In another hospital photo shared online, the twins can be seen side-by-side during a medical check-up — with Ocean appearing to watch closely over her sister.
Nelson jokingly told fans the look on Ocean’s face seemed to say:
“I know what you’re doing to my sister.”
It is these small, joyful moments that Nelson says keep her strong during an incredibly difficult chapter of her life.
With the twins approaching their first birthday in May, the singer continues to celebrate every milestone while preparing for further medical tests.
For fans across the world, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe have become tiny fighters — and a powerful reminder of resilience in the face of unimaginable challenges.
